The sitcom My Sister Sam star Rebecca Schaefer died at the young age of 21 years when she was shot to death by her stalker, Robert John Bardo, in her apartment.
Robert had been stalking the actress for three years and had written numerous letters to her. One such letter was even answered by the fan service of the actress. Her security guards also recounted that he had visited the sets of the actress many times but was successfully turned away.
Later, the actress starred in a movie where she was in bed with a man. This angered Robert a lot as he thought that this tarnished the image of the actress. He found her address and showed up at her home. After she turned him away politely, he returned with a gun and shot her in the chest. The actress succumbed to her injuries.
