Isis King
Born as Darrell Walls in PG County, Maryland, Isis King was like a guy with normal looks. At a very early age, she realized that she was not satisfied as a male. In fact, she wanted to be something different, to be a ‘girl’. During childhood, she had to struggle through the norms of the society. She liked to do everything like girls. She wanted to wear heels and have long hair. Through watching Jerry Springer, she got the confidence and raised her voice. For her transition, she moved to New York in 2007.
She had a great interest in becoming a model and fortunately got a break after 7 years. She got this opportunity with America’s Next Top Model. She was selected for a tenth-season photo shoot for ANTM. This photoshoot featured homeless women. This time she was spotted by Tyra Banks who followed her to become a contestant for season 11. This was the turning point in life for her and she appeared twice on the Tyra Banks Show. In July 2015, she was a guest star on soap opera ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ for multiple episodes.
