Chaz Bono
Chaz Bono was born as Chastity Sun Bono to the star “Cher a” in New York. At the age of 13, he realized he was gay and when he turned 18, his parents identified him as a lesbian. In 2008, Chaz went for a surgery to become a male. He always imagined himself as a man and this was the turning point in his life.
Besides physical changes, he also had to face social changes. He became a spokesperson for the National Coming Out Day and Human Rights Campaign. On 6 May 2010, his request for name and gender change was granted by the court. He made a documentary about his transition and it was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011. He has been a part of various television shows and films. Apart from this, he also appeared in the 13th season of Dancing with The Stars.
