Feeling of being single twitches hard!
Jenn Maronek from Seattle, Washington, was one among those many on this earth who desperately feel that urge of finding their ‘The One’ and unfortunately, it’s not happening when you’re about to knock at your 30s.
Am I really too old to find love?
By the time when Jenn entered her 30s, she started feeling that it’s been really a pretty much long time and she is still single regardless of any goddamn fact. But then there is not any specified time to find your true love. It can happen at any time no matter what. So, she decided to give it her last-ditch effort.
Even success can’t bring in love always
Jenn was successfully leading her life being a nurse and she was doing well with her work. She owned her own house but when it came to be having a life partner, she felt empty-handed. She used to think that even at this stage of life, why isn’t she being able to find her love yet? But now it was high time and she had to give it a last shot.
Mini golf meets turned out to be a DATE!
Once she decided to march on, so she had to go out and meet people as much as she could. She then created her profile on MySpace and started meeting people in public gatherings and parties very often. In this pursuit she also joined some sports events as well. Joining mini golf was one of them. She met a guy there and after the ice breaking phase they started dating. Let’s see where it leads to.
Love remains love, no matter what!
Once she started dating that guy who was a kind of golf pro, she found that he had a bad boy types of image and he was six years younger to her but then it didn’t matter as the love had already smitten both of them intensely.
It’s time to walk down the aisle!
As she had found her true love in him so they both got married keeping those bright hopes for their upcoming married life. Things went on pretty well for a year and then it hit a twist when her husband eventually quit his job to pursue his career in filmmaking. It left Jenn in shock as he didn’t have any such experience and despite the fact, he wanted to relocate to California. And he convinced Jenn for the same and they both finally settled in California, but she got a news that he again found a job offer in Seattle after moving in here.
Taking advantage of credit card and her innocence as well!
Her husband now joined again in Seattle and she got stuck in California waiting for his comeback from the trip. Meanwhile he was consistently unavailable on calls and kept on spending a lot on her credit cards. Once he got back, Jenn was intended to check his phone as she smelled something fishy. And surprisingly she found something what she didn’t like. Her partner was cheating on her all this while on the pretext of getting a job in filmmaking.
Cabin in the woods turned out to be a silly excuse!
Her partner kept on telling a lie that he was out for some movie project and living in the cabin in woods was just a lie. He told her that just because of his busy schedule and remote location he can’t contact her often and it could be done once a week. Now her belief of something bad was getting stronger day by day.
Sticking to the cellphone all the time!
Once he got back to California from his trip, she noticed a strange thing in him and that troubled her a lot. Despite the fact that he was seeing her wife after so long, he was not willing to talk to her. He was rather glued to his phone all the time.
It was those mushy texts which made things clearer!
When they both were together Jenn asked his cellphone to get assured of this suspicious happening, but he denied giving it to her. Still she took his phone and what she saw, was just shattering. There were countless messages of ‘I miss you’ and ‘What are you wearing’ and many more. Jenn was assured now that there must be another woman between them.
It couldn’t be that happily ever after fairy tale!
Now it was sufficient enough for Jenn to realize that her marriage was on the verge of breaking off and it was really heart wrenching for her as she waited for this relationship all her life. But unfortunately, it had to be something else not the happily ever after thing. But the worst was still due and, on the way, somewhere.
Things started falling apart!
Once it all got exposed, things started getting uglier by the time and it reached to that extent where it turned out to be the brutal domestic violence. But one day it was at its peak when her husband almost choked her throat and that was the moment when Jenn thought of giving up.
Letting it go heals anyway!
Once she felt his hands on her neck and it was almost choking her to death, it made her realize many things in her life. This incident proved to be the last nail in the coffin and she then decided to let go of this suffocating relationship and she came to know that it was not worth fighting for anymore and she must quit.
Staying restraint was what she chose then!
It was all over between them, but she didn’t speak anything about this to anyone and preferred to remain silent about whatsoever happened between them. She decided to move into her home again with a little money she was left with and conveyed her father about her decision to break off the marriage.
But then life was not over, and she had to rise again!
A bad marriage is not the end that is what she had to believe in. It was the ultimate truth that her marriage couldn’t be the way it was supposed to be, but it was destined in that way perhaps. Her husband took only the advantage of her all the time and she was mistakenly in love with him all this while.
Counseling came across the way!
When she was going through this lean phase of her life, she tried every possible thing to save her marriage and she did it in the best way possible. In these efforts one was to attend a counseling session. In that session her husband did admit that he was getting selfish in achieving his dreams. But Jenn was not at all against it and all she wanted was to contribute in their life financially because she was the one who earned the bread and butter.
Nothing really worked and it was broken off finally!
These counselling sessions couldn’t be able to save her marriage and she then decided to divorce her husband anytime soon. But she never regretted about her decision as it somewhere brought her on the right path of life.
Finding the purpose of life is the key to happiness!
After facing such trauma in her life Jenn got a new path to follow and that was focusing on her own priorities and selfcare. After this beak up she decided to train herself for half marathon in the name of her newfound liberty from the toxic marriage. She was not constantly seeking for the brightness out of that gloomy past relationship.
Going solo opens new corridors to brighter aspects of life!
By now Jenn had figured it out that the happiness lies within, and one needs to pursue that whole heartedly. So, in order to do that she decided to take herself a solo trip to Australia and she did it. She was finally able to do things she ever wanted to do in her life by her own. In this trip she explored herself a lot and came to know herself in a better way. She inclined towards spirituality and pulled herself towards the great wisdom of this universe.
Time remains the ultimate healer!
It’s been 9 long years since she divorced, and she has really fought against all odds and made herself a spiritually awaken and blissful human being. Although she admits that it has not been that easy but then it’s life and it had to go on. But her cat Simon was really so close to her in all these years and she still keeps her going now.
Going beyond the fears that make you weak!
She is not bound with any fear like the way she used to be earlier. The feat of being alone literally haunted her but now she has learned doing things by her own. She now goes on date with herself, buys flowers and gifts for herself and travels all around the globe alone. And with all these experiences she now realizes that she is happier than ever before. She has finally found the inner peace and most importantly she has started believing in herself and what she has become now.
Worthy knocks can still open the doors!
She is not desperately looking for someone in her life now in the name of love but yes, she is still open for the love to blossom again if anyone really worthy comes across. Meanwhile she is very much content with what she has discovered about the true happiness so far. She is very much aware of her passion and has no grudges to anyone. She has learnt the art of forgiving and happy with where the life is heading to.
Selflove pays off sooner or later!
It never goes in vain. Loving yourself always leads you to the happier life. There was a time when Jenn was lacking selflove and just because of that she thought she didn’t deserve anything better than she eventually had. But now when she is well aware of herself and life’s philosophy, she takes a lot of pride in saying that she deserves even greater.
Do respond to the wakeup call at the right time!
There is always a wakeup call for everything in everyone’s life, one needs to respond to that at the right time, matters a lot. In her bad marriage, she kept on getting signs about its failure, still she kept on making excuses and didn’t listen to the wakeup call to break it off. But when her husband put his hands around her neck, it was the wakeup call for her that made her realize that it’s not going to work anymore.
Adding a new chapter in life!
Jenn used to think that there is no chance of getting married anytime soon when she was about to touch her 30s but then one fine day, she came across someone and found her the one in him and they got married. She thought that she can never be able to leave him no matter what, but destiny had something else for her. She had this breakoff, but it somehow made her learn so many vital lessons of life.
Blessing in disguise helps even more than we think!
It was a misfortune that her marriage couldn’t last long and ended up being a bitter one. But these experiences she had out of this bad marriage, made her realize that she deserves someone better and she can recognize him with clearer vision now. It made her learn of the art of acceptance, that is accepting or appreciating things as they are with their flaws as well.
Have faith and go, win the world!
No matter what happens but one never loses faith within as it is the only thing which could turn even impossible to possible. It’s not always easy but once we learn this art, we can overcome anything which troubles us in life. One must not stop looking for the brighter things in life ever as it is the path which keeps us moving. So, we are quite hopeful for Jenn that she would surely be able to find her true love in her life and she would live her life happily ever after.
